2010 ORV/ATV Safety Certificate Class
Michigan Law requires that anyone under the age of 16 must possess a valid ORV/ATV Safety Certificate when operating an ORV/ATV on land open to the public. The Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office is conducting an ORV/ATV Safety Certificate Course. This classroom course will cover Michigan law and basic ORV/ATV safety. There will be no "hands on" riding instruction; therefore, it is not necessary for participants to bring an ORV/ATV to the class. Participants
under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. There is a $25.00 charge for this course. Preregistration is required and acceptance will be on a first come basis. Additional courses may be scheduled at a later date.

Saturday, June 12, 2010
Saturday, July 3, 2010
Saturday, August 7, 2010
All Class Times: 9:00 am to Approx 2:00 pm

MOORESTOWN ARSON
Information: Kalkaska County Sheriff Dave Israel reports that the investigation of a house fire located at 12838 Moorestown Road SE, Fife Lake, Garfield Township has been determined to be arson. The Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office, Kalkaska County Fire Investigation Team and the Michigan State Police Fire Marshall's Office are conducting the investigation.
