General Experience:
Full time certified Deputy with the Kalkaska Sheriff's Office interested in working with students in both the Kalkaska and Forest Area School Districts. Must be MLEOTC or MCOLES certified. 

Specialized Experience:

Knowledge of juvenile laws, the ability to interact with both faculty and students.

Brief Description of Duties:

This Deputy is responsible for a safe and secure environment in the schools. The Deputy is responsible for conducting educational programs that facilitate any concerns the school may have. This Deputy is a referral and a resource for the students in the Kalkaska County Schools and will interact with other law enforcement agencies. Deputy will attend school activities such as school board meetings, athletic events, dances and parent/teacher organizations, faculty and staff meetings.

Examples of Work:

Traffic control, intervention in domestic problems, truancy, and meeting with students on a daily basis. Educate students in the community in alcohol, tobacco and drug abuse.
