SHERIFF
DAVID A. ISRAEL
Sheriff Israel has 39 years of combined law enforcement experience.
He has been with the Kalkaska Sheriff's office for 14 years working through various ranks
of Deputy, Detective/Sergeant, Undersheriff to his newly elected position as Sheriff.
He spent 25 years with River Rouge Police Department where he also climbed the ranks
from Patrol Officer to the Chief of Police.

ABE C. DEVOL
Undersheriff DeVol has been with the Kalkaska County Sheriff's Office for
14 years holding the various positions of Deputy, School Liaison Officer,
DARE Officer, Township Officer, Sergeant, to his current appointed rank of Undersheriff.

It is my pleasure to serve as your Sheriff. It is my belief that through a partnership
with our community, we can improve the quality of life in Kalkaska County.
My Undersheriff, Abe DeVol and I are committed to serving our community by protecting life and
property, preventing crime and promoting public safety. We value our team of dedicated law
enforcement officers and feel confident that they will provide these services with both
compassion and professionalism.
Our intent with this website is to share information with the citizens, news media and other law
enforcement agencies. We have made every effort to make this site not only user friendly, but to
serve as a resource guide as well. We hope that the information contained within this website will
be of assistance to you.
